M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis is President-Elect

We are pleased to announce the following result of the 2017 Chapter Election.  Please join us in welcoming the newly elected leader, and in thanking the candidates and the Chapter Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification for their time and work on our behalf.

President-Elect: M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis, MSW, LICSW, ACSW, LPC, Beckley

     M. Marie Newcomb-Lewis, MSW, LICSW, ACSW, LPC, had been elected as President-Elect of the National Association of Social Workers West Virginia Chapter. Her term of office begins immediately. She will serve as President-Elect thru June 30, 2018, then as President of the Board of Directors for the period July 1, 2018 thru June 30, 2020.
     Ms. Newcomb-Lewis is a Team Leader for the Behavioral Science Center at  Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She also serves as a Field Placement Instructor and Adjunct Faculty for the Concord University MSW Program.
     She earned a Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University in 1982 and is a member of the NASW Academy of Certified Social Workers. In addition, she is licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker by the West Virginia Board of Social Work, and as a West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor.
     Marie serves as Co-chair of the Ethics Committee for Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and is a member of the WV Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps, Inc. Board of Directors. In addition to serving as President-Elect, she has previously served as the NASW WV Chapter Beckley Branch Leader and as the Southern Regional Representative to the NASW WV Chapter Board of Directors.
