Report from 2016 NASW WV Fall Conference

Wednesday & Thursday, September 14 & 15, 2016

"What a sweet and excellent conference!"

Day One began with an expert-filled overview of policy issues affecting Social Workers and those we serve. These included the State Budget Outlook, Medicaid Expansion, implementing a State Earned Income Tax Credit, Mental Health Access in Schools, and elements of the Our Children, Our Future Campaign to End Child Poverty. 

Day Two began with a Legislative Outlook by Del. Barbara Fleischauer (D-Mon), followed by excellent workshops and discussions on The Neurobiology of a High ACE Score, Social Work Ethics, Social Work Roles in Medication Assisted Treatment, an Addictions Workforce Issues discussion, and Advance Care Planning!

Many thanks to Planning Committee members for putting together a wonderful program, as well as offering their expertise to provide training, and/or volunteering to help with registration!
